The History of ArborMotion

ArborMotion - Ann Arbor's largest and foremost automotive repair and detailing facility

"ArborMotion" is a collective company name for over 30 years of expert automotive care among 6 specialty divisions: Swedish Engineering, Eurotec Motors, Asian Import Repair, Attention 2 Detail, Rennstatt Racing & Ann Arbor Tire. However, instead of maintaining this "separation" among our departments, we have embraced the name of "ArborMotion" for all of our auto professionals - working under one roof to serve everything that your vehicle may need from diagnostics to detailing. The only exceptions to this communal "ArborMotion" name are Attention 2 Detail, (our detailing division), and Rennstatt Racing, (our Porsche division). While these two divisions are very much a part of the ArborMotion company, it is easier and more efficient for us to maintain separate schedules and phone numbers for these two departments. Nevertheless, all specialty departments are still part of "ArborMotion" as a whole.

Swedish Engineering - Ann Arbor Volvo Parts and Service

ArborMotion began as “Swedish Engineering” about 30 years ago, and some of our customers still refer to us by this name today. Originally, Swedish Engineering was an independent business specializing exclusively in Volvo parts and service, (not affiliated with Volvo Corporation). Nonetheless, with the simple goal of providing the best quality service at the best value, Swedish Engineering made a home for itself here in Ann Arbor, and soon developed a loyal customer following. In fact, as time went on, Swedish Engineering’s reputation for automotive excellence created a customer demand for the expansion of its services to include additional vehicle brands, which led to the acquisition of Eurotech Motors, (see below). And although ArborMotion currently services several European, Asian, and domestic vehicle lines today, we are still renowned for our expertise in Swedish imports; hence, why we are still called “Swedish Engineering” by several of our Volvo customers who have been with us for 20+ years.

For more than 20 years, Eurotec Motors has been providing top-quality automotive care in Ann Arbor for European imports. Eurotec Motors was purchased by the owner of Swedish Engineering, (which is now ArborMotion), when he decided to extend his shop’s expertise beyond solely Volvo service and repair. Eurotec Motors, (like Swedish Engineering), is now part of ArborMotion, and we are the experts when it comes to the maintenance and service of your BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, MINI, Mercedes, and Porsche. We work hard to achieve this goal by focusing on: preventive maintenance which can keep your vehicle running at peak performance for years to come; installing the highest quality, technician-preferred parts; utilizing technologically-advanced diagnostic equipment and software; and offering convenient hours that help you fit vehicle repairs into your busy schedule.

Asian Import Repair - Ann Arbor Parts and Service for Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, Acura, Honda, and Infiniti

Asian Import Repair is yet another specialty department of ArborMotion, serving our growing base of customers who drive fine imports by Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, Acura, Honda, and Infiniti. Our building consists of 18 hoists, a computer for each of our 6 ASE Certified Master Technicians, air conditioning recovery and charging stations, and new state-of-the-art alignment equipment. Our technicians are equipped with the latest technical information and computerized diagnostic equipment to best serve your import, complete with a digital repair library. Once again, Asian Import Repair is no longer referred to by this name as it is simply part of ArborMotion.

Attention 2 Detail - Ann Arbor Professional Automotive Detailing

Attention 2 Detail is the professional detailing division of ArborMotion, and this department is yet another example of how ArborMotion expanded its services in order to better serve all of our customers' automotive needs. We have always done courtesy hand washes for our repair and service vehicles, and this simple gesture of appreciation for our customers led to the development of a full professional detailing division about six years ago. Attention 2 Detail offers the most comprehensive auto detailing services available in Ann Arbor, ranging from basic washes and waxes, to oxidation removal and 3M paint restoration. We have several detailing packages available, and we can also customize detailing packages to suit your vehicle's specific needs. (We do offer gift certificates for our detailing services as well).

Rennstatt Racing - Ann Arbor Porsche Service and Repair

Porsche care – one person’s passion alone led to the development of ArborMotion's Porsche division, Rennstatt Racing. Timothy Pott is renowned in the Ann Arbor area for meticulous Porsche service and repair, and with over 40 years of experience as a technician, Mr. Pott is something of a local legend. If you want your 911, Cayenne, Boxster, Panamera, or other Porsche serviced with extraordinary precision, then you need to bring it to Rennstatt Racing. Be sure to ask about special events in and around the Ann Arbor area – exclusively for the Porsche owner. Perhaps we will see you at the track!

Ann Arbor Tire is another former specialty department of ArborMotion, and thanks to its specialists, our customers never have to worry about anything related to tires. ArborMotion specializes in trusted brands like Michelin, BF Goodrich, and Continental, and we handle everything from tire repair to wheel alignments.
